PCS Resources
For you civilian folks, or for those that are new to the military life, we often refer to moving as a PCS (Permanent Change of Station). I have listed a handful of resources that offer information about your new duty stations and housing options.
- Military Installations - This website is an affiliate of Military OneSource but can provide you with specific information about new duty stations.
- Military By Owner - This website provides a list of off-base housing options for military families posted by military families.
- Automated Housing Referral Network (AHRN) - According to their website, AHRN.com has been the #1 housing resource for the military community since 2004. You must create a profile to access their information, but it is well worth the additional email in your inbox.
- Operation We Are Here - This might be the best compilation of military resources I have found, to date. It doesn't look fancy, but click around and you will see that it has the GOOD STUFF. I've linked to their section on Moving, but on the right-hand column of their website, you can click on over 50 different categories pertaining to military life and find resources. (My favorite section by far is the SPACE A travel list that gives a link to EVERY passenger terminals Facebook page. The excitement. It is too much.)
